From the beaches of Port Arthur to the cultural activities in Beaumont, there is plenty of fun for families, friends and travel groups of all ages to enjoy. Get ready for a great time in Beaumont!

Seven fun activities in Beaumont, Texas

  • Take a stroll through the breathtaking Beaumont Botanical Gardens. Wander through the Conservatory and along the pathways. Admission and parking are both free, and guests are encouraged to, literally, stop and smell the flowers and enjoy Mother Nature at her finest. This is the perfect spot for a morning or afternoon of beauty and tranquility.
  • Get to know some gators at Gator Country Adventure Park. Kids old and young will love connecting with wildlife at this rescue and maybe even taking a swamp tour! Guests can interact with all sorts of creatures and embark on unique experiences such as wading with alligators. This is an experience you won’t soon forget!
  • Learn about Texas petroleum and more at the Texas Energy Museum. This museum, dedicated to one of Texas’ biggest exports, teaches about oil in a fascinating and fun way. Plan to spend a few hours at this space where nature and science combine to help the Texas’ oil industry thrive.
  • Pose for a picture with the world’s largest working fire hydrant. Located outside the Fire Museum of Texas, this fire hydrant was originally built by Disney and painted with spots in 1999 to promote the re-release of 101 Dalmatians. It stands 24 feet tall, weighs 4,500 pounds and can blast 1,500 gallons of water per minute. Cool!
  • Walk through the Cattail Marsh Wetlands and observe the natural habitat. There is a boardwalk that will take visitors out into the wetlands to observe 900 acres of beautiful scenery. Be on the lookout for all kinds of birds. You can even explore the gravel trails throughout the site, where visitors often jog, walk and horseback ride.
  • Step back in time at the Spindletop Boomtown Museum. On January 10, 1901, the Lucas Geyser blew on a hill nicknamed “Spindletop” in Beaumont, putting the small town on the map. A boomtown sprang up overnight in the area, with companies trying to capitalize on the liquid gold. Today, visitors in the area can visit the Spindletop Boomtown Museum, which pays tribute to this important era in Beaumont.
  • Enjoy the Crockett Street Entertainment District in downtown Beaumont. Five renovated buildings provide a unique backdrop for this vibrant downtown, which boasts eateries, live music venues, shopping and more. Rotary Park is the perfect spot for young ones to play, and everyone can enjoy the sites and sounds of this walkable downtown area.
