Few sports excite the world like soccer. Forty-eight teams will take the world stage to compete for a chance at glory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Games will be played in the USA, Canada and Mexico in Summer 2026, starting on Thursday, June 11. Fans from around the globe will flock to North America to support their team and hopefully cheer them on to victory.
The Lone Star State is lucky enough to have two stadiums that will host World Cup games in summer 2026. NRG Stadium in Houston will host several rounds of play under the name Houston Stadium, and AT&T Stadium in Arlington (Dallas) will host several rounds of play under the name Dallas Stadium. Rounds have already been set and teams announced. If you’re looking to get in the action for summer 2026, now is the time to plan and prepare!
The tournament will start with 48 teams from around the world. The 48 teams have been divided into 12 groups of 4 teams. Each team will play three games in the group, once against each team. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage. From there, the tournament will proceed on a single elimination schedule until a winner is crowned in New York on July 19, 2026.
Seven total games will be played in Houston. Here is the schedule for Group Play in Houston:
June 14: Germany vs. Curaçao – 1 p.m. ET
June 17: Portugal vs.New Caledonia/Jamaica/DR/ Congo – 1 p.m. ET
June 20: Netherlands vs.Ukraine/Sweden/Poland/Albania – 1 p.m. ET
June 23: Portugal vs. Uzbekistan – 1 p.m. ET
June 26: Cape Verde vs. Saudi Arabia – 8 p.m. ET
Houston will then host two additional games, one in the round of 32 and one in the round of 16.
Nine total games will be played in Dallas. Here is the schedule for Group Play in Dallas:
June 14: Netherlands vs. Japan- 4 p.m. ET
June 17: England vs. Croatia- 4 p.m. ET
June 22: Argentina vs. Austria- 1 p.m. ET
June 25: Japan vs. Ukraine/Sweden/Poland/Albania- 7 p.m. ET
June 27: Argentina vs. Jordan- 10 p.m. ET
Dallas will then host four additional games- two in the round of 32, one in the round of 16 and one semifinal game.
Tickets for the FIFA World Cup are in high demand. Fans can enter the random selection period for tickets through January 13, 2026, for a chance to purchase tickets.
