Take Me To The Beach

In the warmer months, there are seemingly endless ways to enjoy the beach. From swimming and surfing to sandcastle building and sunbathing, there are plenty of opportunities to soak up the sunshine along the Texas Coast. Although the beach can oftentimes feel synonymous with summertime, the beach is a fun place to enjoy all 12 months of the year. Corpus Christi is a Texas hidden gem in the colder months. With fewer crowds visitors can easily enjoy carefree days on the coast enjoying slightly cooler temps and gorgeous views of the gulf. Although swimming may not be possible in the winter months, visitors to the Corpus Christi area can still enjoy the beach in a number of ways. Have fun in the (winter) Texas sun with these unique beach activities.

Ways to enjoy the Corpus Christi beaches in the winter

  • Host a picnic on the beach. Whether you want a picnic for two or a picnic for 10+, you can host a picnic year-round and enjoy the fun with friends. You can certainly DIY a picnic, or hire a great local company such as Pretty Picnics Corpus Christi to handle all the logistics for you. From a simple evening for two to a huge celebration for a graduation, birthday or other reason, picnicking on the beach is a great way to enjoy the waterfront any time of year.
  • Travel the beach in style in a moke from Gulf Coast Mokes! Also commonly referred to as a beach buggy, a moke is an open-top four-seater vehicle that can be rented in bright colors that is perfect for roaming the beach. Grab your besties and get ready to take Insta-worthy photos as you enjoy the wind in your hair and the sun on your face. This is truly a fun experience for all ages.
  • Try your hand at windsurfing. Rent a vessel and try this by yourself or take windsurfing lessons from a pro. You may need to wear a wetsuit or something to keep you a bit warmer in the colder months, but this is still something fun to do even when there isn’t summer weather outside. Worldwinds Windsurfing is closed through February 15 but is available from that point onward to help you explore the open water on a surfboard.
  • Go horseback riding on the beach. Designed for anyone ages eight and up, horseback riding on the beach is a beautiful way to enjoy the weather and the views while you leisurely explore the area on a majestic creature. Suitable for all riding levels, Horses on the Beach can accommodate your group and help you make wonderful memories.
