High-Flying Fun at Traders Village in DFW

Dallas and Fort Worth have a lot of exciting offerings for visitors from Texas and beyond. In Fort Worth, you can catch a cattle drive in the Stockyards or have some hands-on fun at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. In Dallas, visitors can catch a Mavericks home basketball game, explore the exciting Perot Museum, have a blast at Klyde Warren Park and so much more. Grapevine, one of Fort Worth’s northern suburbs, offers Great Wolf Lodge, the Gaylord Texan, Legoland Discovery Center and the list goes on. And Frisco, one of Dallas’ northern most suburbs, was just announced as the newest location for a Universal Studios theme park geared toward young kids. If you are looking for fun, well, look no further than DFW.

One of the area’s most affordable and underrated attractions, however, may not make the typical list of “things to do in DFW.” Traders Village, located in Grand Prairie, a city smack dab between Dallas and Fort Worth, is a great destination any time of the year for guests who want to eat, shop and play. Visitors can stroll the aisles of the Traders Village and find all sorts of treasures from hundreds of different vendors. When you’re hungry, grab a bite from Gary’s Grill or Red Patio Cantina or any one of the spots featured on the grounds. When you’re ready for a wild time, head over to Prairie Playland, your destination for ultimate fun in the great outdoors.

Five can’t miss rides at Traders Village in Grand Prairie

  1. Prairie Screamer- Brand new to Traders Village is the Prairie Screamer rollercoaster. Two cars of 10 riders each will zip around the coaster track, plunging 80 feet at a speed of 80 miles per hour. The whole ride is over in about two minutes but man is a wonderful, wild ride!
  2. Village Vortex. Thrill-seekers, rejoice- this ride’s for you! This circular coaster will spin you round and round in a loop until your head spins! You’ll even stop at the very top a few times, suspended upside down over a 7-story drop. Talk about an adrenaline rush!
  3. Pharaoh’s Fury- This large, ship-like vessel swings dozens of passengers back and forth like a pendulum, pausing frequently in mid-air. Riders will enjoy sweeping views of Traders Village while they swing to and fro at a high rate of speed. Fun for the whole family!
  4. Star Dancer- Enjoy a bird’s eye view of Traders Village from atop the Star Dancer, a ride that enables you to soar high in the air. Riders are seated in a gondola-like basket and then rotated around like on a carousel suspended high above the crowds of people. Fun for all ages.
  5. Freddy’s Fender Bender. Ah, bumper cars. What’s not to love? Fourteen bumper cars that swivel and turn 360 degrees race around a rectangular surface, bumping into each other just because. Sounds like fun for anyone who likes to get a feisty sometimes!
