It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s the Edinburg UFO Festival 2026, and, if you’re into outer space, extraterrestrials and all things otherworldly, this is one exciting event you don’t want to miss.
Scheduled to take place from November 19-21, 2026, in Edinburg, Texas, the Edinburg UFO Festival is an experience like no other. Now in its 10th year of operation, the festival seeks to unite those who have interest in unidentified flying objects and other generally unexplainable phenomena that may not be of this world. Visitors to the area can spend three exciting days with like-minded individuals who are curious about life beyond earth.
The fascination with UFOs in Edinburg dates back to an alleged sighting in 1966. Although an exact date isn’t known, local legend dictates that in November or December of that year, several roughneck workers in the area called the local sheriff in the midnight hours, very spooked and shaken up. They claimed to have seen something hovering above the ground a few miles north of Edinburg and watched as much of the ground in the vicinity of the unknown object burned to ash. To this day, no one is sure what the workers actually saw, but legend suggests it was a UFO sighting in South Texas.
For more than 10 years, this unique festival has attracted visitors from far and wide. Spanning three days, the festival includes a free community fair as well as open mic nights, conference panels and more. Visitors can explore the grounds, see laser light shows, swap stories with other UFO enthusiasts and so much more. Some elements are free to all, others may cost money. This 2026 festival is sure to be larger than life as it commemorates 60 years since the UFO sighting in Edinburg.
