Where is the James Avery Store & Visitor’s Center?

You can visit the store and visitors center during normal business hours, 9 am- 6 pm daily (except Sunday, when the store doesn’t open until 12 pm). The store is located in Kerrville at 145 Avery Road. 

What is the backstory about James Avery? When did it start?

James Avery started designing jewelry in 1954 in his mother-in-law’s garage with just $250 to start. He primarily sold his designs out of a box to local summer camps. In 1967, the land where the Kerrville store and manufacturing facility now sit was purchased and converted into the James Avery headquarters. By the year 2000, James Avery had more than 30 retail locations and 1,000 employees. The company is still family owned and operated today, even though the company’s namesake and founder passed away in 2018.

According to the brand’s website, more than 90 percent of the company’s jewelry is manufactured with the finest materials right in Kerrville. Although visitors can’t tour the factory, primarily for safety reasons, visitors can head to the flagship location to see videos and walk the campus and learn more about the James Avery process.
