As the weather in North Texas starts to cool down (however slowly!), everyone’s desire to enjoy the great outdoors increases. It’s time to lace up, possibly grab a hoodie and pick an outdoor adventure you can enjoy this fall. If it’s a wild experience you’re after, DFW may have just the spot for you. Adventure awaits at DFW-area zipline adventure parks.
Zipline adventure parks can be a blast, but they are certainly not for the faint of heart (or for families traveling with young kids- most zipline adventure parks have a minimum height requirement). Many of these adventure parks are a multi-hour activity that will test your bravery, balance and overall talent to successfully navigate swinging and hanging apparati high off the ground. When the weather is cool but not cold and the wind is but a gentle breeze, zipline adventure parks offer up loads of fun for adventure-seekers. If your fall travels bring you to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, add these awesome zipline adventure parks to your list of must-visit spots for hours of fun.
Four zipline adventure parks in the Dallas/Fort Worth area
- Go Ape Zipline & Adventure Park, Plano & Arlington- “Live life adventurously” is the motto of this zipline adventure park with two DFW locations. Swing high above the trees as you tackle challenging obstacles and fun courses before ziplining back to solid ground. This spot offers two different courses, Treetop Adventure and Treetop Journey. Inquire at each individual park about height and weight restrictions, as well as other features and activities available on-site. And check out their haunted offerings for the Halloween season if you dare…
- Trinity Forest Adventure Park, Dallas- Kids as young as four can enjoy this park that offers something for almost all ages. The main course at this adventure park lets thrill-seekers enjoy more than 30 ziplines, 100 obstacle features, 4 belay jumps and more. There is a separate children’s course for those too young or too unsure of themselves to make their way to the main course. This high-flying adventure course can take you off the ground by as much as 50 feet. Cool!
- DFW Adventure Park, Northlake- Ziplining is just one of a number of adrenaline-pumping activities you can check out at this Tarrant County adventure park. While you’re here, grab your friends for a game of paintball or Airsoft or engage in another shooting activity at this Fort Worth-area spot. Check out the Zombie Hunt they offer during the Halloween Season- sounds like a screaming good time!
- Bolder Adventure Park, Grand Prairie- When it’s too rainy or windy outside for an outdoor zipline course, Bolder Adventure Park in Grand Prairie is the place to be. Located indoors, Bolder Adventure Park offers up fun for the whole family. From an arcade to large rock-climbing walls and a playscape to a foam gun arena, this spot has it all, and in a temperature-controlled environment, too! Don’t skip on the tubing or the “ice” skating- you’ll get full-on winter vibes without having to wear a coat!
Happy Adventuring, friends!
