October has arrived at last! The time of year when yards are filled with pumpkins and fake tombstones, store shelves are lined with all things orange and black, and kids chatter endlessly about what they will dress up as for Halloween. Whether you’re all about the tricks or the treats side of the season, you can’t deny that there is truly something magical about October. As Anne of Green Gables famously said, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
If you’re lucky enough to be spending some time near Concan, Texas, this time of year, you’ll be delighted to know that the area is ripe with Halloween happenings that are fun for all ages. Whether you like the spooky or the macabre or the cutesy, there is something for you in the Uvalde area. So break out your Halloween costume (creepy or cute? The choice is yours!) and get excited to check out some of these great haunts this spooky season.
Neals Haunted Hayrides (October 21 & 22)- Prepare to get spooked! Hop on this haunted hayride and see what creepy creatures await you in the woods around Concan! Live music and spooky fun await hayride patrons.
Love Creek Orchards Pumpkin Patch (weekends and Mondays through Halloween)- For anyone who doesn’t love spooky, this spot is Halloween themed but oh-so-sweet! Kids of all ages will love this pumpkin patch where you can paint pumpkins, build scarecrows, play games, go on a hayride and more.
Graff 7 Ranch (open through November 19)- Kids and adults alike will have a blast at this wide open ranch with lots of engaging activities. From the maze to the double barrel train and the GaGa ball pit to the MatterCorn slide mountain, you’ll have a hard time deciding what to do first! This spot provides a full day’s worth of fun for the young and the young at heart.
13th Floor Haunted House (weekends through Halloween)- If being scared out of your mind is your thing, then the 13th Floor Haunted House in downtown San Antonio is for you! Located about 90 minutes from Concan, this haunted house will leave you with nightmares. Scream and scream until you find your way of this haunted attraction- it’s terrifyingly fun!
Howl O Scream at Sea World San Antonio– (select nights through October 30)- Venture through eight “terror”tories and six haunted houses when you dare attend Howl O Scream. While at Sea World, you can ride roller coasters, check out the special adult beverages and listen to live music. This event is for those who love a good scare, so make sure everyone is your party is ready to be creeped out.
Located in Texas Hill Country, Concan, Texas, is a gorgeous spot to escape to as the weather changes. If you are lucky enough to visit Concan in the cooler months, you won’t want to skip a stay at Parkview Riverside RV. Located near the Frio River, Parkview gives you the peace of country living that isn’t too far from the city. Head to the pumpkin farm during the day and then kick back in the evenings and watch the world go by from Parkview RV. The RV park offers free Wi-Fi, onsite laundry, a clubhouse and more.
