It’s hard to find a nook or corner of Texas that doesn’t have features that make it rewarding to visit. Mesquite, a town just a few miles from Dallas, has attractions that start with Branson-style entertainment. If you can’t make it up to Missouri, just stay for a while in this town, where every Saturday night you can attend the Rodeo City Music Hall. This family entertainment provides a foot-stompin’ good time for all.
Also, every Friday and Saturday night you can attend the Mesquite Championship Rodeo, an event full of bull riding, calf roping and more. It involves BBQ and live music as well.
And there’s more. June is a good time to visit, as Mesquite hosts outdoor concerts throughout the month. Every Monday at 7:15 p.m., the Mesquite Symphonic Band entertains an appreciative audience at Westlake Park, and every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. a jazz concert beckons visitors to the Mesquite Arts Center Plaza. As a special treat, you can hear a Slavic chorus perform traditional folk music at 7 p.m. on June 8 at the Mesquite Arts Center.
