Get Your Kicks in Amarillo

Whether or not you live in Texas or have even visited the Lone Star State, chances are you’ve heard of Cadillac Ranch. This art installation, which originally debuted 50 years ago in 1974, consists of Cadillacs buried partially in the ground. These Cadillacs, situated along I-40 in Amarillo, are now a favorite spot for travelers to bring a can of spray paint and leave their mark, however temporarily. It’s a fun way to celebrate a decidedly odd piece of art.

Although Cadillac Ranch may be Amarillo’s most well-known car-related attraction, it is far from Amarillo’s only attraction featuring four wheels. From drag racing to car museums, Amarillo has a little bit of everything to excite gearheads. If you’re dying for a getaway where you can explore cars and vehicles of all types, then Amarillo is a spot you won’t want to miss!
