Grab your pool and your bait and get ready for a good time. Hopefully you’ll rustle up some largemouth bass or rainbow trout, two fish people commonly catch in the Frio. 
  • Take a hike. With 16 miles of beautiful, scenic trails winding through Garner State Park, you’re sure to get lost in the best possible way. Don’t forget to pack water and sunscreen and maybe hiking poles if you want. Just be prepared to be wowed by the natural beauty of this stunning state park. 
  • Look at the stars. There is something calming about staring up at the night sky, especially when you are miles from the bright lights of big cities. Garner State Park is the perfect spot to step outside and look up to see how many constellations you can name off hand. Don’t forget a mug of hot cocoa to keep your hands warm!
  • Enjoy the Visitor’s Center. This is the perfect spot to visit if you want to learn more about the area and maybe even ask questions to knowledgeable employees and volunteers. You can also shop for souvenirs to commemorate your trip at the Visitor’s Center.
