Fall in Texas means cooler weather even if not always changing colors. It may still look like summer in many places, but NFL and NCAA football seasons are now in full swing and fall fairs and festivals in towns big and small will tell you the fall season is upon us.
This is the time when RVers love to travel most, especially around a state with fairly temperate winters. Travel to a few of these fairs coming up, and you’ll also find a Texas Campground to stay at while you enjoy fair food, rodeo shows, crafts and antiques for purchase and blue ribbon animal exhibitions.
The biggest and best fair around is of course the Texas State Fair, which runs September 27 through October 20. Big Tex will be back for the 2013 fair and will be better than ever. There are plenty of new fried foods to try, Midway rides to enjoy, and shows and exhibits to peruse. Be sure to check out parking and RV information before you go.
There will be a Barbeque Cook-off and Music Festival on September 27-28 at the Burnet Rodeo and Fairgrounds, just northwest of Austin. The East Texas State Fair starts September 20 in Tyler, Comal County Fair & Rodeo starts September 24 in New Braunfels and the list goes on. Visit the Texas Association of Fairs website for all listings.
