Scarborough Renaissance Festival

Posted on: April 9th, 2013 by admin No Comments

Are you going to Scarborough Faire? Head over to Waxahachie for the Scarborough Renaissance Festival, which will transport you to merry ol’ England in the year 1533 when King Henry VIII reigned. Once you step foot at this event you will exit 21st century America and enter the entrancing world of 16th century Britain, replete with knights, jousters and cozy pubs.

During the faire, a field of buildings will be turned into a magical English village with “residents” played by a costumed performing group of actors. Entertainment will include Celtic music, storytelling and a host of stage acts. Each weekend will feature a different theme, such as Highland Games Weekend or Legends of the Sea Weekend, so you may want to camp in the area for a while and attend this wonderful event several times. As an enthusiastic online reviewer said, “This festival definitely rocks!”

The town of Mansfield is a mere 23 miles from Waxahachie and would make a good place to stay during the event. Search by city and select Mansfield.
