Many of us who grew up in the 60s fell in love with the sound of folk music, and that love affair continues to this day. Groups like Peter, Paul and Mary masterfully combined poignant lyrics with musicality, producing amazing songs that have lingered in our consciousness all these years.
Campers will have the opportunity to hear today’s folk music at the Kerrville Folk Festival on May 23 through June 9. During this 18-day period, more than 100 singers and their bands will descend on Quiet Valley Ranch for a glorious round of performances, competitions and workshops. An array of food and drink will be available for purchase, including BBQ and vegetarian dishes, as well as smoothies and gourmet coffee. Daily ticket passes range from $25 to $40, depending on the day of the week.
The town of Kerrville offers several parks from which campers can choose. To locate them go to TexasCampgrounds.com and click on the Find a Park page. Search by city and select Kerrville.
